Will Tokyo host the Olympics in 2021?
Yes. Tokyo will probably host the Olympics.
TPreparations for the Tokyo Olympics are being made by the Japanese government and the IOC.
However, public opinion in Japan is split in two, with 50% in favor and about 50% against. Opponents cite the spread of the coronavirus as the reason. In Japan, coronavirus vaccination is not as advanced as in Western countries.
In addition, recently, a mutated strain of the virus
has been spreading in India and England. This mutant strain has become a major concern. On Sunday, June 20th, there was a news report that
one of the Ugandan athleteswho came to Japan
tested positive for coronavirus and was quarantined.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has decided to cancel the public viewing,
